Bookcase Assembly: what's included
For book storage used beside a workspace, the selected frames and their supplied shelves are assembled as furniture components. Loose files and shelf organizers are not the unit of work; the bookcase’s actual construction determines which frames, doors and drawer fittings are installed.
When drawers are selected, each supplied box is built and fitted into its designated part of the bookcase. Standard or glass doors receive their corresponding fitting work when included in the booking. Suitable anti-tip hardware supplied for the furniture can be installed on an appropriate wall, with the assembly area tidied afterward.
- Assemble the selected vertical storage frames using the components supplied for the purchased bookcase.
- Fit supplied shelves as furniture parts, including the model’s fixed and adjustable shelf arrangements.
- Build and fit every selected drawer box in the storage position described by the instructions.
- Install booked standard or glass fronts with their matching supplied fittings around the shelving.
- Complete suitable supplied wall-restraint fitting where appropriate and tidy the area used for assembly.

A bookcase used for paperwork is booked by the same furniture configuration as one holding books. Count full-height columns first, then add its doors and drawers. Do not count loose document boxes or shelf organizers as fitted drawers; only the actual drawer boxes and their supplied runners belong in that selection.
For a Sunnyvale setup, drawers add $5 each with no included drawer allowance in this service. Four drawers add $20 to the column and door selections. A single open column starts at $59 online, with its supplied shelves fitted as part of the frame assembly.
Make room in front of the furniture to open all storage components and check their movement. Keep office files out until assembly and any required anchoring are complete. If the bookcase stands near a desk, confirm that its doors can open without contacting the work surface or chair. Should removable file bins be counted as drawers?
Loose bins or organizers that sit on shelves are different from furniture drawers built and fitted on runners. Enter only the actual drawer boxes in the drawer selection. If an organizer requires separate construction, send its details to UPTask instead of assuming that a drawer quantity covers it.
What if a bookcase door would hit my desk?
Measure the door’s opening space against the desk before assembly and choose a position that lets the furniture work as intended. Fitting the door does not change its dimensions or remove the obstruction. Check any approved hinge configuration in the manufacturer’s instructions rather than assuming it can be reversed.
Does using shelves for office records change the column rate?
The price follows the bookcase construction, not the items you plan to store. Enter the columns, doors and drawers that require assembly. The finished furniture should still be loaded according to the manufacturer’s guidance, and records should stay off the shelves until the assembly and required anchoring are finished.
